Spring in North Texas is gorgeous — the bluebonnets bloom, the weather warms up, and suddenly you notice every speck of dust that winter left behind. Plus, with our DFW pollen season hitting hard from February through May, spring cleaning isn't just about aesthetics. It's about health.

After years of deep cleaning homes across Plano, Frisco, Allen, McKinney, and beyond, I've put together this checklist specifically for what DFW homeowners need to tackle each spring.

Kitchen

  • Deep clean inside the refrigerator and freezer
  • Clean and degrease range hood and filters
  • Scrub inside the oven and microwave
  • Wipe down all cabinet fronts (Texas dust settles everywhere)
  • Clean behind and under the refrigerator
  • Descale the coffee maker and dishwasher (our hard water is brutal)
  • Sanitize trash cans
  • Deep clean grout lines on backsplash and floors
  • Organize pantry and check expiration dates

Bathrooms

  • Remove and treat hard water deposits on fixtures and glass
  • Deep clean tile grout (steam cleaning works wonders)
  • Scrub exhaust fan covers (they collect more dust than you'd think)
  • Replace shower curtain liners
  • Organize medicine cabinets — discard expired items
  • Deep clean behind and around toilets
  • Polish mirrors and glass

Bedrooms

  • Flip or rotate mattresses
  • Wash all bedding including mattress covers and pillow protectors
  • Vacuum under beds and furniture
  • Wipe down ceiling fans (spring pollen clings to blades)
  • Clean window treatments — dust blinds, wash curtains
  • Organize closets — donate what you haven't worn since last spring

Living Areas

  • Deep clean upholstery and throw pillows
  • Steam clean carpets or deep clean hardwood floors
  • Wash all windows inside and out
  • Dust light fixtures, chandeliers, and lampshades
  • Clean baseboards and door frames
  • Wipe down electronics and entertainment centers
  • Clean air vents and replace HVAC filters (critical for allergy season)

DFW-Specific Tasks

These are the ones that matter most in our North Texas climate:

  • HVAC filter replacement — With pollen counts among the highest in the country, change filters monthly during spring
  • Window track cleaning — Texas dust storms leave grit in every track
  • Patio and entry cleaning — Red clay and pollen accumulate fast
  • Garage sweep and organization — Our mild winters mean the garage gets used year-round
  • Check weather stripping — Texas heat is coming; seal gaps now to save on AC

Don't Want to Tackle It Alone?

We get it — this is a big list. That's exactly what our deep cleaning service is for. Our team can knock out your spring cleaning in a single visit, and then our regular maintenance plan keeps it that way all season long.
